Meet Randy Scheunemann; McCain's foreign policy disaster
Sun Aug 17, 2008 at 07:25:10 AM PDT
To piggyback on sphilk's fine diary here:
http://www.dailykos.com/...
I'd like to keep the full court press on the Scheunemann Effect because I believe this information needs to come fast and furious with many, many ad buys to follow. I prepared the diary yesterday but was unable to post it due to rules & regs but will do so today in the spirit of getting the truth out until the media, the Obama Campaign, the 527's or all of these groups take notice.

538.com links to comments made here by Wes Clark, Jr.
Fri Aug 15, 2008 at 10:05:45 PM PDT
Imagine my surprise as I went over to fivethirtyeight.com to check the stats and the opening article says:
Wesley Clark Jr. implies that his dad had not been vetted (h/t Giordano).
That seemed like an all too familiar line to me since I had just had a discussion with Wes, Jr. a couple of days ago in my diary here

Gen. Wesley Clark -- With a Bullet
Mon Aug 11, 2008 at 08:14:06 PM PDT
General Clark's star seems to be on the rise. The rumors are coming closer together.
I have to say, that although he was not first on my list of VP picks, I'm beginning to believe that he is the right choice for right now. As one of the articles points out, the ongoing problems with Russia and Georgia (and NATO) would be well served by having the retired Supreme NATO Commander keeping his eye on the ball and having the President's ear. It also would kneecap McSleepy's foreign/military advantage. And I think, in a big way.
New Ad ...McCain on oil drilling
Fri Aug 01, 2008 at 09:45:07 AM PDT
It's becoming increasing clear that people's fears & financial worries over their budgets being squeezed by high gas prices are causing many of them to consider forgoing environmental safety in favor of offshore oil drilling. Not to mention the fact that this oil, even when productive about 10 years down the road will not demonstrably lower the price of gas at the pump.
Obama needs to hit back hard on this issue or fear will prevail. In that context, he needs new ads, as many as his team can put together to provide some necessary content and cause for McLiar's switcheroo on drilling.
Here's my contribution. Please feel free to tweek, comment, etc.
Andrea Mitchell...this one's for YOU!

Apologies upfront for this being a fairly short diary but I am sick to death of Andrea Mitchell.
OK, so the honeymoon is over...now what?
Wed Jul 02, 2008 at 10:38:52 AM PDT
A political campaign, both the primary and the general, take us through the engagement and the first few years of marriage.
We all got engaged to Barack about a year ago and now we're married. And just like most marriages, the honeymoon phase hopefully lasts a good long time with your hearts going pitter-patter each time you're together. But at some point you may exchange your Victoria Secrets for flannel pj's during the winter.
Welcome to reality.
No Quarter: The Gray Screen of Death
Sun Jun 15, 2008 at 10:20:48 AM PDT
Funny that the (un)Democratic version of Red State has now been relegated to the position that they truly deserve. So vile that when one of Susan's hit pieces on Obama which is linked on Real Clear Politics is almost completely redacted when you follow their link. Comments and all.
And wtf is RealClearPolitics doing anyway putting an article from No Quarter under 'Best of the Blogs'. As if.
This McCain video should be everywhere

This diary will be short & (not so) sweet for John McSame. HT to Crooks & Liars where I found it via YouTube.
Some of Ron Paul's supporters put together a tasty little video about our favorite grumpy nominee. Whoever these unnamed Paul supporters are they actually did a helluva job and do deserve cake.
I think he really got smitten with the celebrity of power.
Fri May 30, 2008 at 08:32:48 AM PDT
The NY Times has a brief history of John McSame up today. What it shows us is a man who, like Bushie, was desperate to be separate from his father & grandfather, whose viewpoint on handling conflicts is aggression first, maybe questions later, and whose lust for power seems boundless.
Geraldine Ferraro has lost her mind

or lady, we hardly knew ye.
Here she is on Hannity-Calamity's show calling the superdelegates backboneless, claiming that Hillary has been treated to terrible sexism by the Obama campaign and explaining away Hill's RFK assassination quip to exhaustion & lack of sleep.
"He's as dumb as a stump."

Well I have to say I agree with this statement. That's because I know who the 'he' is that's being referred to. And I know who the quote is attributed to as well.

Bill Moyers on Democracy Now
Wed May 07, 2008 at 10:39:57 PM PDT
I just caught the end of Amy Goodman's interview of Bill Moyers on Democracy Now. I happened to pick it up when he was discussing media & politics. Spot on, I would say.
AMY GOODMAN: Why do you think these candidates, the leading candidates of the Democratic supposedly opposition party, do not call for an immediate end to the war, do not call for single-payer healthcare?
BILL MOYERS: Because the media doesn’t allow complicated thought to be articulated in ways that enlighten instead of misinform people.

Can I get an amen, brother?

A Slaughter in Yellowstone
Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 07:04:04 PM PDT
I happened to be checking over at Crooks & Liars & read a reposted (from CNN) article about the slaughtering of bison in and around Yellowstone National Park. Why did this peak my interest? Well the first reason is the obvious, the second is that I learned about this practice of shooting bison when I lived in Montana 15+ years ago.

Meet Ms. Where is your flag pin
Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 10:18:26 PM PDT
Update: Humble apology...this story was just posted.
I picked this up on TPM. It appears that our lady of the flag pin was mentioned in a NY Times.com article on April 4th quoting her reason for not wanting to vote for Obama. Yup, you guessed it. It's all about the pin, not race.

Freep this ABC Poll
Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 12:57:56 PM PDT
and website. If you go here:
http://abcnews.go.com/...
you will find their poll for who won the debate. If only we could vote on the moderators performance...
If they can put up headlines like "Obama pressed after rough debate" and a picture of Elizabeth Hasselbeck (the view republican) telling us that Hillary won...well we can do our best to vote them off the internet with our traffic.
Go...before they take it down
