Have You Called Your Obama Field Organizer Today?

Thu Jul 24, 2008 at 11:22:51 AM PDT

If you haven't, you should.  If you don't know who he/she is, you should call the nearest field office in your state and find out.  I'll explain why after the jump.

Where Was Mayhill Fowler?

Thu May 22, 2008 at 12:25:44 PM PDT

On Huffington Post's Off the Bus page, Mayhill Fowler has a post titled, "Obama's Clouded Victory Rally."  I was at the Obama rally in downtown Des Moines on Tuesday night (shameless diary plug: see Obama in Des Moines - a view from the bleachers ). While Fowler got the details of the evening's weather spot on:

Last night was glorious in Des Moines--balmy, clear, a moon like a gold doubloon on the low horizon.

I'm not sure Fowler did with her evening once she got done marrying the weather report to a bad simile.  Wherever she was, it doesn't sound to me like she was at the same rally I attended.  Then again, it's all about perception, isn't it?

Obama in Des Moines - a view from the bleachers

I haven't seen a diary from anyone who attended last night's rally in downtown Des Moines so thought I'd add my personal commentary with a link to a few photos.  It was a fantastic evening, and  the import of having Sen. Obama and his family back here on such a momentous night was not lost on any of the 7,000+ who attended.  More after the jump...

The Crossfire-ification of America

Fri May 02, 2008 at 07:44:09 AM PDT

On October 15,2004, Jon Stewart of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" appeared on CNN's now defunct show "Crossfire," ostensibly to hawk his new book, "America: A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction."  In true Stewart form, though, he used the appearance to appeal to the better natures (and I use that term loosely) of the show's hosts, Tucker Carlson and Paul Beglala.

The transcript of his appearance is available here:
