So, what happened to the WMDs?
Thu Oct 07, 2004 at 05:56:31 AM PDT
The Bush-Cheney gang staked it's entire case for war on two assumptions:
- That Saddam Hussein had stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, including a program to develop nuclear weapons.
- That our biggest security risk was for terrorists to get their hands on these weapons.
Most thinking people now accept that these assumptions have been proven wrong. Yet, many Bush supporters still insist Saddam had WMDs, we just haven't found them yet. What if they are right?
We authorized surgery, IF NECESSARY!

Here's a visual metaphor I'd like to see Kerry use in response to claims that he voted for the war.
(Not my original idea, but one that deserves visibility.)
"They said the patient had cancer.
We authorized surgery if absolutely necessary.
The patient is dying from the wounds inflicted by an incompetent surgeon.
Infection has taken over.
No cancer was ever found."
What if Bush tanks? (Poll)
Thu May 13, 2004 at 08:19:29 AM PDT
What if Bush is down 20+ points by the Rep. convention?
Will he stay the course and go down in flames?
Will he stay the course and win in November?
Will he voluntarily step aside (like LBJ) and give someone else (McCain) a shot at Kerry?
Will his base turn against him and force him out?
Will he and Karl orchestrate a dirty trick (like a phony terrorist event) to give Bush a last minute bump?
Bush's dirty little religious secret
Fri Apr 30, 2004 at 06:52:46 AM PDT
The most alarming thing revealed on Frontline last night was Bush's deep-held belief that only those who are "born-again Christians" will ever enter the kingdom of heaven. (George's religious conversion resulted from his earlier contact with Billy Graham.)
Frontline reported an incident where George W and his mother were debating whether it was possible for anyone else (other than born-again Christians) to go to heaven. Barbara (an Episcopalian) held a more ecumenical view that we should all do our best on earth and leave it to God to decide. Bush disagreed. They picked up the phone and called their friend Rev. Billy Graham who said, "I'll have to agree with your mother on this."
But George W Bush flatly rejected Billy Graham's position.
Finally, a real reason to vote against Kerry.

The "fair and balanced" Boston Herald sent its entire "editoral staff" on an exhaustive quest to find a compelling reason why Kerry is not the right person to be our next president.
Here's what they came up with... "Now, it turns out, Kerry's wife hasn't even filed her 2003 tax returns and has an extension until August."
Can you imagine a future first lady doing such an unpatriotic thing as to file for an automatic extension? Next thing they're going to accuse her of not flossing.
